How to Plan a Dental Holiday in North Cyprus

The phrase "dental holiday" promises more than it should. If you are travelling to North Cyprus for implants or a full-mouth restoration, the treatment sets the schedule and the holiday fits around it, not the other way round. Planned properly, though, the two sit together well. Kyrenia is a compact harbour town, appointments take up a few hours a day at most, and the rest of the time is yours. This guide covers the practical side: flights, transfers, how many days each treatment actually needs, and what to do with the time in between.

Getting there: two routes in

There are two sensible ways to reach Kyrenia. The first is to fly to Ercan, North Cyprus's own airport, via a short connection in Türkiye. The second is to fly direct to Larnaca in the south, which many UK and Irish airports serve, and transfer north; we arrange that transfer for you. How many days each treatment needs

Book flights around the clinical timetable, not around a fortnight in the sun.

• Single or multiple implants: placement is completed in one visit of a few days. Where clinically possible, you leave with same-day temporary teeth. The implants then heal for roughly three to six months before a second short visit for the final crowns or bridge.
• All-on-4 or All-on-6: the same two-visit pattern — implants and a fixed bridge on the first trip, the final restoration after healing.
• Hollywood Smile (veneers or crowns): typically completed within days on a single visit, with fittings spread across the stay.

If your scan shows you need bone grafting, a sinus lift or extractions, these are quoted separately and can change the timetable. So wait for your written treatment plan before booking anything; it will tell you exactly how many days to allow.

What to do between appointments

Be realistic about the first day or two after implant surgery. You will want to rest, eat soft food and avoid alcohol, smoking and strenuous activity — standard advice after any oral surgery, wherever you have it done. After that, Kyrenia is an easy town to recover in. The old harbour and castle are a short, flat walk; Bellapais and its abbey sit in the hills above town; the beaches to the east ask nothing of you but a book. None of it demands much energy, which for a patient mid-treatment is precisely the point. Later appointments, such as fittings and checks, usually take an hour or two, leaving whole days free.

Costs, quotes and the honest caveats

The savings are real, but they deserve plain numbers rather than slogans.
